Birth Trauma

Childbirth is one of the most profound transitions you can experience. It can be joyful, transformative, and awe-inspiring—but it can also be overwhelming, frightening, or not at all what you imagined. For some parents, the birth experience leaves emotional and physical wounds that linger long after leaving the hospital. You might feel anxiety, flashbacks, grief, or a sense that your body or your birth story has betrayed you. These feelings are real, valid, and deserve to be held with care.

At SoulFly Therapy, birth trauma support is offered with gentleness, presence, and deep attunement. Sarah creates a safe, compassionate space where you can process your experience without judgment, release tension held in the body, and begin to rebuild trust in yourself, your body, and your birth story. Healing is not rushed, and every step is guided by your pace, your readiness, and your unique needs as a parent.

Birth trauma can show up in many ways, and Sarah’s support can help you:

  • Process and integrate a birth experience that felt overwhelming, traumatic, or out of your control

  • Work with anxiety, flashbacks, or hypervigilance related to your birth

  • Explore and process emotions around labor interventions, unexpected outcomes, or NICU experiences

  • Reconnect with your body, regain a sense of safety, and feel empowered as a parent

  • Navigate grief or loss related to birth, whether it was loss of expectations, physical complications, or difficult outcomes

  • Gently examine generational patterns, beliefs, or narratives around birth, and begin creating your own path forward

Support may include trauma-informed yoga therapy, somatic practices, breath awareness, guided reflection, and therapeutic conversations—always tailored to what feels safe and helpful for you.

Healing from birth trauma is not about forgetting or “getting over it.” It’s about reclaiming your story, honoring your experience, and moving forward with clarity, compassion, and self-trust. You don’t have to navigate this alone. With support, you can feel seen, held, and empowered as you continue your journey into parenthood.
